Braces Cost in Lahore: Metal, Ceramic & Clear Aligner Prices

A dentist's straight answer on what braces cost in Lahore, what changes the price, and how to tell a fitting fee from a full-treatment fee.

Braces on teeth illustrating braces cost in Lahore

Braces in Lahore generally cost from around PKR 60,000 for metal braces at standard clinics up to PKR 450,000 or more for clear aligners, with the type of braces and the complexity of your case doing most of the work in setting that number. The appliance you pick is the biggest single factor, and how long your teeth take to move is the next. I lead the orthodontic side of our clinic, and here's the first thing I tell people: a sticker price and a full-treatment price aren't always the same number, so it's worth asking exactly what a quote covers.

How much do braces cost in Lahore?

Across the city, metal braces sit at the affordable end and clear aligners at the premium end, with ceramic braces in between. Government and teaching hospitals charge less, with longer waits and treatment carried out by supervised trainees. Private specialist clinics charge more for shorter waits and consultant-led care. That's the general shape of the market. Here is where our own prices sit.

At Dental Specialists in DHA Phase 6, Lahore, full orthodontic treatment starts at PKR 250,000 for metal braces, PKR 260,000 for clear aligners, and PKR 320,000 for ceramic braces.

You'll notice our prices are quoted as full-treatment fees, not fitting fees. That's a deliberate difference worth understanding, and I'll come back to it. If you're still deciding between fixed braces and trays, our guide on braces versus clear aligners weighs them side by side.

Metal, ceramic, or clear aligners: which and why

Three options, one goal, different trade-offs. Metal braces are the workhorses: brackets and wires bonded to the front of your teeth, unbeatable for control in tricky cases. Ceramic braces work the same way but use tooth-coloured brackets, so they're far less obvious in photos, which is why a lot of working adults ask for them. Clear aligners are removable transparent trays you swap every week or two.

Here's a myth worth clearing up: that aligners are automatically faster and better than braces. They aren't. Research comparing the two finds both correct mild-to-moderate crowding well, with similar final results on standard grading scores. Fixed braces keep the edge in complex cases, extraction cases, and fine bite control, because the dentist has more direct command over each tooth. Aligners often win on comfort and appearance, and can be quicker in simple cases. There's a catch, though. They only work if you wear them around 20 to 22 hours a day, and the evidence behind some aligner claims is still thinner than we'd like. Take the trays out for meals and forget to put them back, and treatment stalls.

What changes the price of braces

So why does one person's quote land at PKR 250,000 and another's at double? A handful of things move the number.

  • The type of braces. The single biggest driver. Metal is cheapest to make, ceramic and aligners cost more.
  • Case complexity. A little crowding is a short, cheaper job. A significant bite problem needs more time, more visits, and sometimes extractions.
  • One arch or both. Treating only the upper or lower teeth costs less than doing both.
  • Prep work. Braces go onto healthy teeth and gums. If you need scaling and cleaning or gum treatment first, that's a separate step. Straightening teeth over untreated gum disease is a mistake.
  • Retainers afterwards. These aren't optional, and some quotes leave them out. Ask.

This is where the fitting-fee trap catches people. A very low headline price sometimes covers only the day the braces go on, with adjustment visits and retainers billed separately as you go. A full-treatment fee folds those in. Neither is wrong, but they aren't the same deal, so compare like for like before you judge one clinic as dearer than another.

What's included at our DHA Phase 6 clinic

Our braces and aligner prices are quoted as full-treatment fees. That means the figure covers the active course of treatment and your regular adjustment or tray-change visits through to the end, and we set out clearly what's included before you start. Retainer arrangements are confirmed at your consultation, so there's no surprise at the finish line. You can read more about braces and aligners at our DHA Phase 6 clinic on the service page.

On staffing, I'll be straight with you. I lead orthodontic treatment day to day, having completed professional orthodontic coursework and managing routine braces and aligner cases myself. For complex bite corrections and surgical-orthodontic cases, we bring in visiting consultant orthodontists. Flexible payment options are available on select treatments — discuss with our team at consultation.

Comparing orthodontic quotes?

Check whether each price is a fitting fee or a full-treatment fee, and whether retainers are included. Then book an in-person assessment with a qualified orthodontist near you.

How long will you wear them?

Most braces treatment runs 18 to 24 months. Simple alignment can be done in about a year. A serious bite problem can take up to three. Aligners land in a similar range, sometimes a little shorter in easy non-extraction cases. Whatever the appliance, the teeth won't stay put on their own once it comes off.

That's what retainers are for, and skipping them is the most common way people waste two years of treatment. Teeth drift back toward where they started, especially in the first year. Most patients wear a retainer nightly for a long time, sometimes indefinitely. I see this at wedding season a lot: someone wants straight teeth for the shaadi photos and asks in month nine if we can rush it. We can't, safely, so the honest advice is to start early. Braces are a slow fix, not a last-minute one.

The honest bottom line on braces pricing

Pick the appliance that fits your case, not just your budget, and read every quote for what it actually includes. Metal is the value option and handles anything. Ceramic buys discretion. Aligners buy comfort and near-invisibility, if you'll wear them. Budget for retainers from the start, and start sooner than you think you need to.

Frequently asked questions

How much do braces cost in Lahore?

In Lahore, braces range from around PKR 60,000 for basic metal braces at standard clinics to PKR 450,000 or more for clear aligners. At Dental Specialists in DHA Phase 6, full treatment starts at PKR 250,000 for metal braces, PKR 260,000 for aligners, and PKR 320,000 for ceramic braces.

Which braces are the cheapest in Lahore?

Metal braces are the most affordable option almost everywhere, because the brackets are simpler and cheaper to make. Ceramic braces and clear aligners cost more. When comparing quotes, check whether the price is for the full course of treatment or just the initial fitting.

Are clear aligners more expensive than braces?

Usually, yes, aligners sit at the premium end. At our clinic, aligners start at PKR 260,000, close to metal braces, while ceramic braces are our most expensive fixed option. The final aligner price depends on how many trays your case needs, so it varies more than fixed braces.

How long does braces treatment take?

Most people wear braces for 18 to 24 months. Simple alignment can finish in about a year, while complex bite problems can run to three years. After the braces come off, you wear retainers, often nightly and long-term, to stop the teeth drifting back.

Do braces prices include retainers and adjustment visits?

It depends on the clinic. Our braces prices are quoted as full-treatment fees covering your adjustment visits through the course. Retainer arrangements are confirmed at consultation. Always ask any clinic exactly what a quote covers, since a fitting-only price and a full-treatment price are different numbers.

Can adults get braces in Lahore?

Yes. Roughly one in five brace wearers is an adult, and you are never too old to straighten your teeth. Adults often prefer ceramic braces or clear aligners for a more discreet look. Healthy gums matter first, so a gum check comes before any orthodontic treatment.
